Fabricio Bruno Celtic move takes bizarre twist as Cruzeiro accuse player's agent of theft

Fabricio Bruno’s agent has been accused of stealing transfer documents from Cruzeiro.

The Celtic target has been trying to get his contract cancelled with the Brazilian club in a bid to force through a move.

And now reports in Brazil say the club have accused Fabio Mello of trying to take documents during a meeting with the club’s CEO.

Mello met with Vittorio Medioli to discuss the situation involving Bruno and his potential move to Celtic after the defender seemed a lawsuit to get his contract terminated.

A court rejected his request for an injunction and Jovempan.com.br report that the agent might still be in possession of documents despite Mello being stopped from leaving club headquarters.

A statement said: “Vittorio Medioli has confirmed that he will file a police report with the police station.

“Cruzeiro EC publicly deplores the behavior of player agent Fábio Mello, who after a meeting with the CEO of the Transitional Core Manager, Vittorio Medioli, tried to get hold of some sensitive Club documents by returning to the meeting room which, at the moment it was empty.

"After the meeting, Fábio Mello took advantage of a quick departure from Medioli, returned to the room and took with him several documents. Upon noticing the agent's movements through the reflection of the glass, Medioli approached him at the elevator door and managed to retrieve most of the documents, but one of these eventually escaped and was missed only after a detailed conference."

Bruno is expected to appeal the decision about his contract and has until January 6 to make up his mind whether to go back to court.

Celtic are also keen on Slovan Braitislava striker Andraz Sporar with Neil Lennon confirming talks have taken place over a potential deal for the Slovenia international.
