Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Sunday, August 22.

Tanganga update

Spurs have received numerous proposals for defender Japhet Tanganga, according to his agent Roberto De Fanti.

“We have received many proposals for the dry loan because Tottenham firmly believes in the player and does not want to grant a ransom," he told tuttomercato.

“The market is constantly evolving, already two years ago it had to be sent on loan and then Mourinho made it one of the pivots of his defence before Covid arrived.

“There are other days before the market closes, we will see what happens: it comes from a great recognition, that is man of the match on the occasion of the last match."

Lautaro Martinez blow

Spurs' pursuit of Inter Milan frontman Lautaro Martinez has been dealt a huge blow after Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta claimed that the Argentine is happy to stay at the San Siro.

The 23-year-old notched 19 goals and 11 assists across all competitions last season as the Nerazzurri won their first Serie A title since 2011.

Ndombele swap

Italian outlet Tuttosport via ilBianconero has claimed that Juventus could offer American midfielder Weston McKennie in a swap-deal to land Spurs' wantaway Tanguy Ndombele.

The 24-year-old is yet to be included in any of head coach Nuno Espirito Santo's squads this season, sparking rumours of a move away from N17 and the former Wolves boss has claimed that the Frenchman needs to improve if he is to have a future at the club.

"What happened in the past I can’t even think about, I don’t mention out of respect. What I can tell you is that Tanguy is with us, he works but we have to speak honestly and to take the best out of Tanguy has to come from himself," said Espirito Santo.

"It has to come from himself. I don’t want to go much further than that but it has to come from himself."
