Fabio Carvalho's FIFA 22 profile assessed amid Liverpool deadline day transfer bid

Liverpool have made an offer of £5 million for Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho as the Reds look to secure his signature before the end of the winter transfer window.

Rather than waiting until the summer when Carvalho is out of contract, Liverpool are looking to wrap up the transfer for the attacker before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

The Reds have offered a fee of £5m to Fulham to try and lure the youngster to Anfield now instead of battling heavy competition for his signature when he's available on a free transfer in six months, with the deal including the 19-year-old being sent back on loan to west London for the remainder of the season.

The move for Carvalho comes shortly after Liverpool confirmed the signing of Luis Diaz from Porto, with Jurgen Klopp's side taking fans by surprise with their transfer activity this month. This wouldn't be the first time Liverpool have signed a young talent from Fulham, with Harvey Elliot arriving from the Cottagers in the summer of 2019.

So, how does Carvalho compare to Elliot as well as the rest of Liverpool's squad on FIFA 22?

Let's take a look at the 19-year-old's stats on FIFA 22.

Fabio Carvalho's FIFA 22 profile

Overall rating: 71/99

Overall Potential : 86/99

Position: CAM/CM

Weak Foot: Four Star

Skill Moves: Three Star

Work Rate: Medium/Medium

After starting FIFA 22 at 67 rated, Carvalho has increased by four ratings overall due to his incredible season so far, currently rated 71 out of 99 with a potential rating of 86/99.

The 19-year-old's strongest position is CAM, but the Portuguese attacker can also play CM and as an LW, two positions heavily used in Klopp's system.

Carvalho has a high potential rating of 86 out of 99, which is higher than the current and potential rating of Firmino, higher than the potential rating of Kaide Gordon (84), the same as Thiago (86), Luis Diaz (86) and Curtis Jones (86), but just a bit lower than Elliott (87) and Jota (88).

When comparing Carvalho to Elliott, both are very similar in their stats and versatile in their positions.

On FIFA 22, Elliott is the better overall attacking player, but when considering Elliot's experience at the top level, it's a very close comparison.

Elliott is rated 73 out of 99, two ratings higher than Carvalho. Elliott has higher pace, passing and dribbling stats, whilst Carvalho leads in shooting, defending and physical stats.

Carvalho also boasts a selection of impressive in-game stats for his rating, with his best attributes being his balance (85), agility (79), acceleration (79), sprint speed (76), ball control (73), positioning (73), finishing (72) and dribbling (72).

Standing at 5ft 9ins, Carvalho has four-star weak foot and three-star skill moves, showing how tricky the attacker can be with both feet.

Overall, FIFA 22 suggests that Carvalho is a huge talent and for the transfer fee quoted, could be a steal for the Reds this January.
