Fabio Capello takes swipe at Ralph Hasenhuttl over reaction to beating Liverpool

Former England manager Fabio Capello has scoffed at Ralph Hasenhuttl's reaction after his Southampton side beat Liverpool on Monday night.

Former Reds striker Danny Ings scored the only goal early on at St. Mary's to secure all three points against the Premier League champions, with the Saints boss breaking down in tears on the touchline following the final whistle.

Hasenhuttl explained his emotions after the game as he revelled in beating Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for the first time.

"I've never taken points against Jurgen," he told Sky after the final whistle.

"I started to believe we could to do and they were so strong up front. You could believe that something could happen.

"The way we defended today was amazing. The effort the guys put in was the key of winning.

"The mentality was even better. The perfect day for us, the perfect evening for us and an important step forward I think."

But Capello has shared his bemusement at Hasenhuttl's emotional response to the result, admitting it's something he just doesn't understand.

"I don't understand this sort of thing,' the Italian told Sky Sport Italia.

"He was working, a bit of emotion is fine in these situations, but this was completely over the top.

"Why on earth would you start crying?!"
