Fabinho wants Kylian Mbappe to join Liverpool

Fabinho would love to see Liverpool break the bank in order to bring in Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.

The pair starred together in the title-winning Monaco side of 2016-17 before Mbappe secured a big-money move to Paris that has helped cement his status as arguably the number one centre-forward in the world.

Fabinho also departed a year later, swapping the French Riviera for Merseyside and securing Champions League glory in his first season in England.

Rumours that the pair might set for an Anfield reunion have gone into overdrive since Liverpool signed a new kit deal with Nike, who represent Mbappe.

On that prospect, Fabinho told Telefoot: "Mbappe will have a Ballon d’Or before Neymar. I would like to welcome him to Liverpool."

Unfortunately for Fabinho, his manager does not seem to share the belief that a move for the prolific Frenchman is possible.

Jurgen Klopp recently said: “Buying this calibre of player is difficult. I don’t see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

“I don’t see any club, that is how it is. And we are involved in the clubs that cannot do it. It is as easy as that.

“Okay, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him. What a player he is.

“But it is about the money of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance. Sorry for killing that story.”
