Fabinho sheds further light on Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah spat during title race with Man City

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has revealed more details about the spat between Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah earlier in the Premier League season.

Mane was visibly frustrated during the 3-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor after being substituted, throwing his coat in anger and needing James Milner to calm him down.

It was later revealed that Salah's decision to go for goal rather than play a square pass to Mane was the source of his frustration.

The Liverpool winger claimed that the pressure of matching Manchester City 's goal-laden performances may have led to the anger towards his teammate.

He said back in September: "I feel a little bit frustrated because it's football you want to score more goals.

"You can see Man City eight, six, seven nil. You can see it, no? So, for me and for the team it is really important for us to score as many goals as we can."

His teammate Fabinho has shed more light on the situation while on international duty with Brazil.

Asked by The Strait Times whether the pair remain friends, he said: "Of course.

"After you know, they joked in the dressing room and spoke normally. They are very good friends.

"In the moment in the game, things can get heated but it’s not the first time and won’t be the last time. It’s okay."
