Fabinho sends Liverpool transfer message to PSG star Kylian Mbappe

Fabinho has revealed how he would “like to welcome” Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool in the future.

Mbappe is one of the brightest young talents on the planet and is expected to step into the shoes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi when they retire from the game.

The PSG star has been tentatively linked with a move to the Reds over the last couple of years, with supporters on social media even getting the phrase #Mbappe2020 trending due to the volume of wishful thinking about a potentially record-breaking deal in the not so near future.

And although Reds boss Jurgen Klopp recently dismissed speculation linking his side with a move for the forward, that hasn’t stopped his midfielder from opening up on a potential reunion with his former Monaco teammate.

"I would like to welcome him to Liverpool,” Fabinho told French TV show Telefoot , as well as backing the French World Cup winner to win the Ballon d'Or before Neymar.

This isn’t the first time Fabinho has opened up on how he would like the 21-year-old to join him at Anfield.

Back in the summer of 2018, the midfielder revealed how he would try to convince the PSG man to join him on Merseyside.

He said: “He has already said for the next season he will remain at PSG. But I will try slowly to convince him to come to Liverpool!”

Fabinho has also offered an update on when he will return to full fitness, after being sidelined with an ankle injury since November.

"My ankle is better, I trained alone this week,” he said. "I am touching the ball again, I feel good and I feel confident."

Mbappe still has two years remaining on his current deal with the Ligue 1 club and despite the links, any deal with Liverpool looks

An article from a national newspaper back in November did claim Mbappe represented the "ultimate ambition" for the Reds.

And as the  ECHO has previously reported,  Liverpool privately made it known during the summer of 2017 that they were monitoring developments over Mbappe's future prior to his transfer from Monaco to Paris.

But as Klopp said earlier this season: "I don't think there is a club in the world  that can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG , that is how it is. And we are involved in that too.

"We cannot do it, it is as easy as that. OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him, what a player he is.

"But it is about the money of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance, sorry for killing that story!"
