Fabinho's wife responds to Liverpool star's shock omission from Brazil Copa America squad

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is a surprise omission from Brazil's squad for next month's Copa America, and it didn't take long for his wife Rebeca Tavares to respond to the news.

The former Monaco man has been a key figure in the latter portion of the Reds' season, turning in some dominant midfield displays as the Reds pushed Manchester City all the way in the Premier League and reached the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

During his slow start to life at Anfield following last summer's move from Monaco, Fabinho was still being picked by Brazil, but often as a right-back.

But after establishing himself in Liverpool's midfield his national team's head coach Tite has opted to overlook him for the finals, which Brazil will host.

And just after the news was released, Fabinho's wife Tavares - who has gained popularity on social media among Liverpool fans this season for her frequently positive posts - could only respond with a couple of 'thoughtful face' emojis, seemingly giving away just what she was thinking about the decision.

Fabinho's Liverpool teammates Alisson and Roberto Firmino are both in the squad, with the pair set to join up with their national team after the Champions League final in Madrid.

Manchester City trio Ederson, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus have all made the cut, as has Everton forward Richarlison following his impressive first season at Goodison Park.
