Fabinho injury explained after Liverpool team for Tottenham confirmed

Fabinho will miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

Fears were raised over the availability of the Brazilian after he was pictured sitting out a training session for the Reds earlier today at Leyton Orient.

And Jurgen Klopp has had to further rotate his centre-back options given the latest setback, with Fabinho having suffered a muscle issue.

All told, there are three changes from the side that lost 3-2 to Manchester United in their FA Cup fourth round tie on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson is fit and available after missing the last two games, and will line up alongside Joel Matip in the heart of defence with the Cameroonian having also been absent from the weekend.

Alisson Becker remains in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson the full-backs.

The midfield is unchanged with Thiago Alcantara and Gini Wijnaldum joined by James Milner.

And Sadio Mane returns to the attack alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Summer signing Kostas Tsimikas is among the substitutes.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Henderson, Matip, Robertson; Milner, Thiago, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Subs: Kelleher, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, Origi, R Williams, Phillips.
