Fabinho gives fitness update as he warns of danger for Liverpool against Wolves

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has vowed his substitute appearance against Manchester United on the weekend was the first step to him getting back to full fitness.

The No.3 suffered an that has seen him miss almost two crucial months of the season.

The Brazilian played the final 10 minutes of the 2-0 win at Anfield on Sunday, after replacing Sadio Mane.

He has since detailed his joy to be back available for selection.

Fabinho said: “I really missed the work during the week, being with my teammates and getting on the pitch, feeling the emotions of being part of a game.

“So, I was really happy to get the minutes vs Man United, that was really important for me.”

Talking about the injury specifically, he added: “The injury is better, I’m really confident in my ankle, in my fitness.

"Of course, with the more minutes I get under my belt, the more time playing, I’ll be able to get back to full fitness and get even stronger."

The Reds face a trip to Wolves tonight where a win will see them re-establish a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ran out 1-0 winners in December’s contest between the pair at Anfield, with Sadio Mane’s lone goal enough to seal all three points.

However, when speaking to Premier League Productions, Fabinho expressed the danger that the Midlands side can offer.

He said: “It’ll be a very difficult game, definitely. We saw when they came to Anfield, it was one of our hardest games this season.

“They’re a team that’s solid in defence, they have some very dangerous attacking players and we’ve seen at home they are a match for anyone – they beat [Manchester] City – so they are a very dangerous team.

“But we’ve had a good amount of time to prepare, we know their team well, we know their strengths, so we’ll prepare and go there looking for the victory.”
