Fabinho confirms part of Sadio Mane's claim about Liverpool training sessions

Fabinho has hailed the "inexhaustible" work ethic of Liverpool's front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and confirmed Mane's claim that the gym at the club's Melwood base is a hive of activity long before training sessions.

Last month Mane said that the gym was packed an hour before training as Liverpool's players seek to maintain the fitness levels that they have come to be renowned for under Jurgen Klopp.

"You can see the gym one hour before training is completely full," the Senegalese star told the Reds' official website.

"I think that's a very, very big sign for the club because everybody wants to play and everyone wants to be the best. I think that makes things special.

"From the training ground, everything starts there and it's just really important. It's normal that fans are getting so excited to see the team playing well and being successful.

"That's why we are working every single day."

Mane's teammate Fabinho has recently returned from ankle ligament damage, and made his third start since the end of November in Tuesday's Champions League last-16 defeat at Atletico Madrid.

The Brazilian's form before his injury was one of the major reasons behind Liverpool's remarkable first half of the season, and he has hailed some of the key figures at the club for their influence.

He stopped short of repeating Mane's claim that the gym is completely full an hour before training though, instead only confirming that the Reds' famed front three are in there.

“[Jordan] Henderson and [James] Milner know how to transmit motivation. The team is receptive because it’s very professional," Fabinho told El Pais.

“But for the team, it’s incredible that the three stars, Mane, Salah and Firmino, are inexhaustible.

"They are an hour early in the gym every day. They always want more!”
