Fabinho back in midfield as new name emerges on Liverpool bench for RB Leipzig game

Jurgen Klopp makes five changes as Sadio Mane returns to the Liverpool side and Fabinho is named in midfield for tonight's Champions League action.

Fabinho has played much of the season as an emergency centre-back.

But is back in the team in his favoured role alongside Gini Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcantara as the Reds aim to see off the threat of RB Leipzig in their 'home tie' in Budapest.

Mane sat out most of Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Fulham but is back in the front three alongside Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah with Roberto Firmino ruled out with a knee problem.

Fabinho's inclusion in midfield means Ozan Kabak returns to the team alongside Nat Phillips, who makes his Champions League debut for the Reds at the Puskas Arena.

Seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Harvey Davies is part of a substitute bench that includes Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri.

With a 2-0 victory to hold from the 'away leg' in the same stadium last month, Klopp's side are aiming to make it to the last eight for the third time in four seasons.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Phillips, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Salan, Jota, Mane.

Subs: Adrian, H. Davies, Milner, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, B. Davies, R. Williams, N.Williams.
