Fabian Schar sent off for Switzerland but Miguel Almiron back on form

Newcastle's Fabian Schar was sent off on a difficult night for Switzerland, where he was responsible for one of Germany's three goals in a 3-3 draw.

The United defender was involved in two of Switzerland's Nations League games, confirming his fitness to play on Saturday against Manchester United.

But he was sent off in injury time of the 3-3 draw after earlier playing a sloppy pass which was picked up by Chelsea's Kai Havertz for the second goal.

It was a second yellow card for Schar, who will likely be lining up for Newcastle alongside Federico Fernandez.

The Switzerland man will miss his country's next match against Belgium but will be back for the Nations League clash with Spain - which is a must-win or they face relegation in the Nations League.

There was better news for Miguel Almiron, who had been criticised in the wake of Paraguay's draw with Peru.

The forward was accused of having "speed but no skill" by pundits but responded with a good performance as his country defeated Venezuela.

Gaston Gimenez's goal gave Paraguay the lead but they were indebted to goalkeeper Antony Silva for saving an injury time penalty.
