Fabian Delph 'will have to request to leave' Man City and more transfer rumours

Man City are 'keen to keep' midfielder Fabian Delph this summer despite countless rumours linking him with a move away from the Etihad this summer.

Delph endured a difficult campaign this past season, with injuries and form limiting him to just 20 appearances, with his final game coming in the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

The 29-year-old has also seen significant competition arrive in his two main positions, left-back and defensive midfield, this summer in the form of new arrivals Angelino and Rodri.

Many presumed that Delph's four-year stay at City would come to an end this summer, as he has just a year remaining on his current contract and with Everton and Turkish giants Galatasaray being heavily linked, but that may not be the case according to the latest rumours.

The Metro reports that City are 'keen to keep' Delph and he 'will have to request to leave' the club 'if he wished to force through a move.'

It's claimed that City are 'willing to let Delph run down' his contract 'if a suitable offer is not made' and won't 'let him go on the cheap when Guardiola values his ability to play in a number of positions.'

It's claimed that City value Delph at '£16million' despite only having 12-months remaining on his deal and costing less than that in 2015.

Elsewhere, City have 'raised their offer' for Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo, according to reports.

The Blues have been chasing the 25-year-old all summer as they look to further strengthen their defence but have been unable to come to terms with the Serie A champions.

Yet, Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sky Sports News, report that City have 'raised their offer' for Cancelo and the Old Lady 'are prepared to sell.'

However, the future of Brazilian full-back Danilo continues to be a spanner in the works after his transfer to Inter fell through and it's reported that 'City have to first sell Danilo before they can bring the Portuguese international to the Etihad.'
