FA 'investigating' Rams' decision to evacuate Pride Park stadium

The evacuation of Pride Park Stadium ahead of the Derby County game against Cardiff City is being investigated, according to reports.

Supporters and members of staff were evacuated from the stadium and told to head for the nearest exit over the stadium’s tannoy system.

Now, the incident is being investigated by the FA, according to Derbyshire Live.

The evacuation took place during the side’s pre-match warm-ups.

The message on the tannoy said: "Attention please, this is an emergency. Please leave the stadium by the nearest available exit."

It has been reported that a flare was found in the away end concourse which caused the evacuation.

The Sun claims the FA has decided to look into the decision to evacuate the stadium.

They claim this is the first time flares have caused a whole stadium to be evacuated in England.

Fans and staff were gathered outside Pride Park while the required safety checks were made, and it wasn’t long before everyone was allowed back inside the stadium.

The match kicked off on time at 7.45pm, and Derby were held to a 1-1 with Cardiff which leaves them with seven points from their opening seven Championship matches.
