FA Cup fourth round qualifier between Haringey and Yeovil to be replayed after abandonment

Haringey players, in yellow, left the field following the incident ( PA )

The FA Cup fourth round qualifying match between Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town, which was abandoned after Haringey players walked off the pitch following alleged racist abuse, will be replayed on Tuesday 29 October.

Two men aged 23 and 26 were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault following the incident on Saturday, and the Football Association is continuing to investigate.

Haringey’s players walked off the pitch after their goalkeeper, Douglas Pajetat, was allegedly subjected to racial abuse from travelling Yeovil fans. There were also claims of spitting and bottle throwing.

Former defender Michael O’Donoghue said Haringey’s players were left “disgusted” and “distraught” by the abuse which caused the match to be abandoned in the 64th minute.
