FA Cup final 2022 weather: Met Office forecast ahead of Liverpool vs Chelsea

The UK is set to bask in the spring sunshine on FA Cup final weekend.

Liverpool FC will take on Chelsea at Wembley stadium on Saturday for one of the showpiece events on the English football calendar year. Fans of The Reds travelling down south for the game will rejoice as the Met Office expects glorious conditions in London.

It is the third time that Jurgen Klopp's side will play in the stadium in 2022 after the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup semi final victories. LFC's 3-2 win over Manchester City in April was against the backdrop of scorching sunshine - and the forecasting agency has predicted a similar outlook for Saturday.

The forecast for Thursday to Saturday in Wembley said: "Sunny Thursday morning, scattered cloud later with a low risk of showers. Dry on Friday but still cloudy and windy. Warmer with light winds and plenty of sunshine Saturday."

The hourly breakdown for Saturday shows sunny conditions will remain throughout the day with temperatures expected to reach highs of 21C. Conditions are predicted to remain dry with less than 5% chance of rain throughout the day.

It is a similarly positive outlook for those remaining in Merseyside to watch the big game. The Met Office expect sunny conditions throughout the day in Liverpool with highs of 16C. The chance of rain also stays under 5% across Saturday in the region.

The forecast for Thursday - Saturday in Liverpool said: "Thursday and Friday will see a mix of sunshine and a few showers, with the majority of the showers across Cumbria. Drier and warmer on Saturday as high pressure builds."
