FA Cup dates and schedule confirmed with final to be played in August

The FA Cup has today also been given the green light to return.

Football Association chiefs have confirmed the quarter final ties will be played on the weekend of June 27 and 28.

The semi finals and final will all take place at Wembley behind closed doors over the weekend of 18-19 July and 1 August respectively, as revealed by Mirror Sport yesterday.

It comes on the back of the Premier League confirming it will return on Wednesday, June 17, and the FA Cup games will all be shown live across the BBC and BT Sport.

FA Chief Executive Officer Mark Bullingham said: “We are pleased to agree the provisional restart date for the 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup.

“The competition has been an integral part of the English football calendar for nearly 150 years, and we’d like to thank the Premier League Executive and Clubs for their support in scheduling the remaining matches during this unprecedented time.

“This has been a difficult period for many people and while this is a positive step, the restart date is dependent on all safety measures being met. The health and wellbeing of players, staff and supporters remains our priority.”

It is understood the quarter finals are due to be played in the respective grounds for the home clubs.

The schedule for the Emirates FA Cup Quarter Finals, which was originally drawn on 4 March, is:

    - Leicester City v Chelsea

    - Newcastle United v Manchester City

    - Sheffield United v Arsenal

    - Norwich City v Manchester United

Mirror Sport revealed yesterday that all 92 Premier League games will be shown live over the course of 39 days.

Now the FA Cup has also given armchair football fans a boost as the FA insisted on saving the world’s oldest cup competition.
