Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli will miss next week's game against Manchester United after the Football Association ordered a one-match suspension in relation to a social media post.
The 24-year-old was charged back in February over a joke made on social media regarding the coronavirus pandemic. The Spurs star joked about the outbreak and appeared to mock an Asian man.
He later deleted the post and released a video to apologise. He said: "I let myself down and the club."
The FA have now handed Alli a one-match suspension as well as a £50,000 fine meaning he will miss the game against United at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium next Friday.
Their statement read: "The Tottenham Hotspur FC player denied that a social media post breached FA Rule E3(1), as it was insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute, and constituted an “Aggravated Breach”, which is defined in FA Rule E3(2), as it included a reference, whether express or implied, to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin and/or nationality.
"However, it was subsequently found proven by an independent Regulatory Commission."
United's game against the north London side will be their first since football was brought to a halt as a result of the global crisis.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the Reds would have all their injured players back for the fixture.
