FA 'confirm' no Andy Robertson charge after Liverpool draw with Burnley

Andy Robertson will reportedly face no charges from the FA after an outburst at referee David Coote following Liverpool's draw with Burnley.

The Reds pushed hard to find the win but had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw following goals from Robertson and Jay Rodriguez.

After the final whistle, Robertson remonstrated to the referee about not being awarded a penalty - despite being impeded in the box by Johan Berg Gudmundsson.

Jurgen Klopp pulled the defender away from the official and asked questions of his own about what he saw as a lack of protection for goalkeeper Alisson at set pieces.

However, the FA confirmed to the Mirror on Sunday evening they had received the report from match official Coote, and the fourth official, and neither included any reference to Robertson’s outburst.

That means he will face no further action, and so will escape the threat of a fine or ban.

The newspaper stated that should Robertson's obscenities have been included in the report "that would have automatically triggered a referral to the disciplinary process, and a potential sanction".
