F1 Miami GP: Saturday sprint schedule, weather, and how to watch

Formula 1 resumes its 2026 season at the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, returning to the Miami International Autodrome after an unexpected five-week hiatus and the FIA’s latest tweaks to the hotly debated regulations.

First held in 2022, the Miami race has quickly become one of F1’s highest-profile U.S. stops. Built around the Hard Rock Stadium complex, the tight street-style circuit is set to remain on the calendar until at least 2041 after a historic long-term deal.

Mercedes arrives in Miami as the team to beat after winning the opening three rounds of the season, but it is teenager Kimi Antonelli who leads the championship after taking victory in the last two events, surely hoping to keep his momentum going. He holds a nine-point advantage over team-mate George Russell in the standings.

After Friday’s single practice session and sprint qualifying, Saturday raises the stakes with the sprint race followed by qualifying for Sunday’s grand prix. With limited practice time, new regulatory changes and a title fight already forming inside Mercedes, Saturday could play a major role in shaping the rest of the weekend.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s running at the Miami Grand Prix.

How can I watch the F1 Miami GP?

Broadcast coverage of Formula 1 varies by region. In the United States, Apple TV is the primary broadcast partner for the 2026 season, with all sessions available on the platform following a multi-year deal. F1 TV remains the series’ global subscription streaming service.

For viewers in the United Kingdom, Sky Sports continues as the championship’s exclusive broadcaster, showing every session live throughout the 2026 season. F1 coverage can also be streamed via Sky Go or NOW, and highlights of the race will be available free-to-air on Channel 4.

For every session, Motorsport.com provides live text commentary, including Saturday sprint race and for grand prix qualifying.

What is the weather forecast for F1 Miami GP Saturday sprint and Grand Prix qualifying?

Weather in Miami can shift quickly, but Saturday is currently expected to stay mostly dry.

The latest forecast for Miami Gardens calls for sunny to partly cloudy conditions, breezy weather and very warm temperatures, with a high near 93F / 34C. That makes hydration and heat management a factor for fans at the circuit and teams working through the sprint and qualifying schedule.

Sunday remains the bigger weather concern. Early forecasts call for cloudy, humid conditions with a high around 80F / 27C, along with showers and the chance of a heavy thunderstorm that could affect the race.
