F1 Hungarian Grand Prix – Start time, starting grid, how to watch, & more

Charles Leclerc will start from pole position for the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. Here's how and when you can watch the race.

The Ferrari driver stunned both McLarens to grab his first pole position of the 2025 season, producing a flawless final lap in Q3 of qualifying to take pole by 0.026s from Oscar Piastri.

Lando Norris could only manage third in the sister McLaren ahead of George Russell who took fourth for Mercedes – the top four split by a total of 0.053s.

Leclerc’s pole overshadowed surprise improvements from both Aston Martin drivers, with Fernando Alonso fifth and Lance Stroll sixth, while Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto took seventh to beat Max Verstappen down in eighth for Red Bull.

On the other side of the Ferrari garage there was frustration, as Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in Q2 and will start in 12th, while Andrea Kimi Antonelli was another notable early dropout in 15th for Mercedes.

In Q1, Yuki Tsunoda was eliminated despite being one-tenth off Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen, with the Japanese driver set to start the Hungarian GP in 16th.
