
American Express Hitech TGR F1 Academy driver Nicole Havrda has been transferred to hospital for precautionary checks after a crash during Race 1 of Round 6 in Singapore.
The Canadian-Czech driver crashed into the wall on the opening lap after starting from 17th on the grid.
F1 Academy confirmed in a statement: "F1 ACADEMY confirms that following an incident in Race 1 at Round 6 of the 2025 F1 ACADEMY Series at the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, American Express driver Nicole Havrda has been transferred to Singapore General Hospital for precautionary checks."

Havrda has since shared an update on her Instagram story, writing: "Feeling great, just bruised my hand from hitting the side of my car when letting go of the wheel when I crashed."
Lia Block, backed by Williams, went on to claim her maiden F1 Academy victory in Race 1 at Singapore, followed by Maya Weug and Chloe Chambers in second and third, respectively.
Havrda has until tomorrow, Sunday 5 October, to recover ahead of Race 2, which is set for 15:25 local time.
In her debut season in the all-female racing series, Havrda currently sits 17th in the standings with one point, which she secured in Race 1 in Montreal.
Havrda began karting in 2020 in the West Coast Kart Club, Rotax Max West Karting Championship and the Western Canadian Karting Final, before she became the youngest driver to compete in the W Series shootout and the Heart of Racing shootout in 2022. In the same year, she also became the youngest driver to race in the Indian Racing League.
Before joining F1 Academy in 2025, she won the Formula Pro USA Winter Series and the Western Championship in 2023 and secured a full-time seat in the Formula Regional Americas Championship in 2024. She continues to race in the Formula Regional Americas Championship alongside her F1 Academy commitments. The 19-year-old driver is also set to take part in the final two rounds of the 2025 Formula 4 CEZ Championship at Slovakia Ring and Brno for JMT Racing.
