F1 Academy driver Aiva Anagnostiadis shares injury update: "Literally taking my first steps again"

Hitech GP F1 Academy driver Aiva Anagnostiadis, backed by TAG Heuer, has shared an injury update after a fractured foot saw her replaced for the sixth round of the championship in Singapore.

F1 Academy announced in the lead-up to the race weekend at the Marina Bay Street Circuit that Anagnostiadis would be replaced by Megan Bruce after sustaining a fracture to her left foot during training.

The Australian driver has been sharing regular updates with her 28,200 followers on Instagram as she works to be ready for testing in Bahrain. In her latest update, the 18-year-old driver explained that she was "literally taking my first steps again" and working on building back her strength.

"Baby steps… literally taking my first steps again today. Definitely mentally challenging. Smiling through the pain.

"Got to get moving and in a pool swimming which is something I love. This week is gym and pool work! So happy to be off bed rest! Time to come back stronger.

"Again, thanks to @andreacervini.fisio @poliambulatorioclinicamobile for the support."

Bruce stepped in for Anagnostiadis in Singapore, missing the season finale of the GB4 Championship. It is yet to be confirmed if Anagnostiadis will return to the cockpit for the F1 Academy season finale in Las Vegas on 20-22 November, which coincides with the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Heading into the finale, Anagnostiadis sits 16th in the drivers' standings with five points.

2025 is Anagnostiadis's debut season in the all-female racing series. She joined the championship on the back of competing in the Motorsport Games in France in 2022, winning the Australian Ladies Trophy in 2021, and racing with Argenti Motorsport in 2024. She finished 10th in her debut Indian F4 championship in 2024.

"I'm beyond excited for the 2025 season! This is an amazing opportunity, and working with a team like Hitech GP and a sponsor like TAG Heuer is a dream come true," she said at the time of signing with Hitech GP for F1 Academy. "I’m ready to chase my goals, and fight for every opportunity to win!"
