Ben Starr, the actor best known for his role as Final Fantasy 16 protagonist Clive Rosfield, had the misfortune of going up against the extremely challenging antagonist he plays in Hades 2, and he had such a tough time that he says he "hated" himself in that moment.
Starr plays Prometheus in Hades 2, widely recognized as one of the hardest bosses in a game known for its brutal boss fights. In a recent interview with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, he admits to having been utterly entranced by Hades 2 but also incredibly frustrated by his own character.
"There are certain games that really immerse me, like hours went by," Starr says. "Hades 2, I put 90 hours into that game, just traveling."
Acknowledging that he himself acted in Hades 2, he says Prometheus was such a struggle for him that for those brief moments, he wasn't his biggest fan.
"I hated myself, because he's a hard boss when you first meet him. I sent a picture of Prometheus defeated when I finally beat him to one of my friends and went, 'fuck me, I guess.'"
