'F***ing amazing!' Italy captain swears in live TV interview as Gabby Logan forced to apologise

BBC Six Nations host Gabby Logan was forced to apologise to viewers after Italy captain Michele Lamaro swore in his live post-match TV interview. The Azzurri forward led his side to a first Six Nations win in seven seasons and 36 games, recording their first ever win in Cardiff during the championship.

After taking an early lead and retaining that into the break, it looked as though Wales had banked their get out of jail card via a Josh Adams try in the final quarter, only for a superb final play see winger Edoardo Padovani cross following an impressive break from full-back Ange Capuozzo. Paolo Garbisi nailed the match-winning conversion to win by a single point, 22-21.

Asked by Sonja McLaughlan in the post-match live TV interview whether Capuozzo has turned into "a bit of a star", Lamaro said: "He definitely is. He is a superstar of our squad, obviously, right now" before adding: "That last try was f***ing amazing."

McLaughlan ploughed on, with the skipper telling her: "It's 80 minutes of rugby so if you start well, and we started well, you can manage a few moments well like that last try... I think just being in the moment until the end is what took us to the win. But the most important thing for us was to concentrate on our process and what we have to do for the whole team."

The language prompted Gabby Logan back in the stadium studio to tell viewers: "Apologies for the fruity language."

Wales had produced a shocking display as they became the first team to suffer a Six Nations defeat to Italy in seven years.
