Ezekiel Elliott and Dallas Cowboys agree to new contract terms

In breaking news this morning, Ezekiel Elliott’s holdout is over. The former Ohio State and current Dallas Cowboys running back has reportedly agreed to terms on a new six-year contract that’ll pay him $90 Million dollars and make him the highest paid running back in the NFL.

The contract goes on top of the one that he’s already playing under and will result in a total of $103 Million over eight years.

Elliott had been holding out ever since the Cowboys training camp got underway, using it as leverage to negotiate a new contract that would pay him as the best running back in the league, surpassing the contract of the Rams Todd Gurley.

The deal comes just days before the Cowboys are to open up against the New York Giants on Sunday. Elliott had been working out in Cabo to prepare for the season and we’re still waiting on word on whether he’s passed all the physicals and things he needs to do in order to be ready in week one.

Iam Rapoport was the first to break the news this morning. As soon as there is more available, we’ll bring it to you here at Buckeyes Wire.
