Herero women tribe in costumes marching, Namibia
The photographer Jim Naughten captures images of the Herero tribe in costumes influenced by European missionaries and traders in the late 19th century and German colonial rule. The pictures appear in the book Conflict and Costume (published by Merrell) and will be exhibited at Margaret Street Gallery, central London, between 5 March and 13 April Illustration: Jim Naughten
