EY expands Midlands team and more appointments news

geFinancial services firm EY has boosted its tax team in the region.

Stuart Halstead has been appointed as head of indirect tax and Craig Stobo and Danny Vu as directors.

Mr Halstead will be focused on developing the firm's indirect tax market offering across the Midlands and returns to the region after living in the Middle East for several years.

Mr Stobo has relocated to the Midlands from Glasgow and brings with him a wealth of experience having worked with financial services clients for over two decades.

Mr Vu joins from EY in Saudi Arabia, having previously worked in Canada for PwC.

He specialises in working with multinationals which have complex supply chains on their VAT compliance.

Mr Halstead said: "After growing up in Shrewsbury and then moving around the world with work, I'm delighted to be back home in the Midlands to lead EY's indirect tax team at what is a very exciting period of growth for the region.

"As a response to the thriving business community here, we're continuing to invest in our Midlands indirect tax team."

Marketing and communications specialist M3 has appointed Lennon Kelly as client services director to its team in Birmingham.

Mr Kelly has worked with major brands such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Nokia and GSK

His previous experience includes spells with Eleven, Holman Group and Life Agency and he is the latest in a raft of recent hires which has seen the team grow by seven.

Birmingham-based law firm The Wilkes Partnership has expanded its international reach by appointing listed Leenamari Aantaa-Collier as partner and head of planning.

Ms Aantaa-Collier is a renowned specialist in public and private sector areas, including work for the NHS on issues arising from applications, obligations, appeals and plan making.

Her expertise also spans to litigation, energy subsidy issues and advising the select committee in the House of Lords on the conflict between the planning and licensing regimes.

Integrated marketing agency Edge Creative has appointed George Fitzgerald to its team in Sutton Coldfield as digital account manager.

He brings experience in digital marketing and sales after working at Yell from 2016.
