'Extreme concern' for missing Scots man who vanished eight days ago

Police are 'extremely concerned' for the safety of a Scots man after his disappearance more than a week ago.

Jamie Waugh went missing from the Larkhall area of South Lanarkshire on Sunday January 31.

The 28-year-old was last seen by friends at around 4.30am, when he left a house in Glen Avenue, to head to another address.

His disappearance is said to be highly out of character and he has not contacted friends or family since the last sighting.

Police have now released a photo and description of Jamie, who has links to both the Larkhall and Blantyre areas of Lanarkshire.

He is described as 5ft 11 inch tall, brown receding hair, blue eyes, facial hair and was last seen wearing Black T-shirt, Navy blue zipper top, black Adidas shorts and grey trainers.

However, cops say he is also thought to have been carrying a pair of dark tracksuit bottoms at the time.

Two distinctive tattoos could also hold the key to identifying the missing man.

Jamie has a tattoo of his first name on his right arm, with tattoo another of a skull and roses on his left.

Sergeant Audrey Peat said :"It is out of character for Jamie not to be in touch with friends or family for this length of time. They are extremely concerned about him and just want to know he is safe".

"If anyone has seen Jamie or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact Police as a matter of urgency.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1830 of 06/02/21."
