Manchester greeted the arrival of 2023 with a bang on New Year's Eve as extraordinary footage showed a series of fireworks displays erupting across the city.

As is often the case the Manchester weather did its best to rain on their parade with torrential downpours at one point threatening to put the whole thing on hold. However, hardy Mancs were determined to have their night of celebrations.
A bustling event in Piccadilly gardens saw massive queues all the way down to Debenhams. At the stroke of midnight the lucky revellers who made it in saw a dazzling pyrotechnic display amid cheers and celebrations.
Up on Werneth Low stunning fireworks were captured erupting over the city as people welcomed in 2023. Large numbers of visitors had chosen the viewpoint to see in 2023 and capture their own pictures and video of the celebrations. This resulted in large queues from the site down narrow country roads.
