Extinction Rebellion will be holding a “mega protest” in Leeds during the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Leeds branch of XR is to host a demonstration at Millenium Square, in the city centre, on Saturday (29 August) from 3-5pm.
They will be joined by Group of Action Leeds and Bradford Airport (GALBA) in a bid to highlight the “damage” that could be caused if plans for the expansion of the airport is approved.
Saturday also marks National Airports and Aviation Action Day.
Attendees, adults and children, are encouraged to wear fancy dress as winged animals on the day.
They said: “Join us in Millennium Square on Saturday 29th August, 3-5pm, for a BIG, FUN and LOUD family protest event to show Leeds what we feel about the plans.
"NO MORE PLANES!
“There will be music, activities, open mic and more as we await and welcome back the brilliant Ride the Noise bike riders.”
