Extinction Rebellion organisers said the protest might slow traffic but would not be majorly disruptive.
Protesters will ride bicycles as part of a "swarming action" and have been told by organisers to maintain physical distance.
Organisers said they expected the protest, part of nationally coordinated events, to be finished by midday.
