Externed criminal held in Pune for abduction

PUNE: The Bhosari MIDC police on Monday rescued a private company employee, who was abducted by an externed criminal and his accomplice on March 11 from Chikhali.

The criminal, identified as Rahul Pawar (31), and his accomplice Nitin Tambe (32), both from Khed taluka, had kept the victim at a house in Kirkitwadi in Haveli taluka. The Bhosari MIDC police team led by senior inspector Shivaji Gavare rescued the man and took the duo into custody.

Gavare said that the victim had borrowed money from Pawar. When he failed to return the same, Pawar beat up him on March 11. He and his accomplice forced the victim into a car and drove away. The victim’s wife had filed a complaint with the police, he said.
