A MAN has spent three hours awaiting treatment near Singleton after a quad bike accident left him with spinal injuries.
The Westpac rescue helicopter flew to Bridgman, north of Singleton, about 5.40pm on Easter Monday after the rider reportedly suffered serious injuries on a rural property.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service spokesman said paramedics first treated the 83-year-old after he was found approximately three hours after the incident.
The chopper's critical care team arrived and helped treat and stabilise the man.
He was flown directly to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition and was expected to undergo further specialist medical treatment.
