Explosives seized in Melbourne fire arrest

A 30 year old man's been arrested over a fire at a Melbourne warehouse in May. (AAP)

Explosives have been seized and a man arrested, two months after a Melbourne warehouse fire.

Police swooped on a Parkville property on Tuesday morning, arresting a 30-year-old man and seizing electronic and explosive items.

The arrest is over a South Melbourne warehouse fire on May 6, that took about 50 firefighters to bring under control.

Nearby South Melbourne Primary School was closed due to air quality concerns and black, foul-smelling water used to extinguish the fire then made its way into the Yarra River.

The man is being interviewed by police.
