NEW YORK _ Someone's out to blow up Democrats.
The U.S. Secret Service intercepted two mail bombs sent to the homes of former Presidents Clinton and Obama, officials said Wednesday.
At least one of the explosive devices was similar to the one found at the home of billionaire philanthropist and liberal donor George Soros.
On Tuesday night, the Secret Service recovered a "suspicious package" addressed to former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at her Chappaqua home.
Officials told reporters the device was similar to the one found at Soros' home on Monday.
On Wednesday morning, an explosive package was intercepted at the Washington, D.C., home of former President Barack Obama.
"The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such," the U.S. Secret Service said in a statement Wednesday. "The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them."
An investigation into who sent the two packages was underway. The feds are also trying to determine if the explosives can be connected to the one found outside Soros' home. Authorities were able to detonate that device without anyone being injured.
All three incidents are being investigated by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, which includes NYPD detectives, officials said.
