What happens when an unexploded bomb is found?

A statement from South Wales Police released on Monday night said: "Bomb disposal experts will carry out a controlled explosion on marshland near Amazon in Jersey Marine this evening, after a bomb shell was discovered at a metal recycling company in Neath Abbey.

"A cordon has been in place at Sims Group UK, Neath Abbey Wharf, since the device was discovered at approximately 2.15pm today.

"Explosive Ordnance Disposal are preparing to detonate the device shortly and Fabian Way will be closed for a short time to ensure the safety of the public.

"Despite the safe location, residents throughout Neath can expect to hear the explosion. The public should not be alarmed, but are asked to stay away from the area for their own safety."
