A Co-operative store in Swansea had to be evacuated after an explosion earlier today.
South Wales Police and two fire crews rushed to the Co-op food store in High Street, Clydach , at 10.13am after an outside compressor mechanical unit exploded.
Shoppers were evacuated and firefighters isolated the store.
Police taped off the perimeter whilst investigations were carried out by the fire service.
A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Morriston and Pontardawe were called to a commercial property in High Street, Clydach, Swansea, following an explosion at the property.
"The explosion involved an outside compressor mechanical unit, in a yard to the rear of the property.
"The store was evacuated and isolated by firefighters.
"No injuries were reported.
"The fire service left the incident at 10.57am."
A spokesman for the Co-op added: "The damage has affected some of the store’s refrigeration, it is too early to confirm when we will be able to re-open as repairs and replacement parts are awaited.
"We apologise for any inconvenience while the store remains closed temporarily."
