FIRE crews rushed to Edinburgh Waverley station on Thursday after locals reported hearing an "explosion".
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to the scene shortly after 8pm on Thursday, where crews dealt with a small fire.
Four fire appliances were sent to the incident, Edinburgh Live reports, with police and station security officers also assisting.
Video footage from the scene has since circulated on social media, showing fire engines and police officers gathered outside Waverley Station.

The caption of the video reads: "Fire at the Waverley centre with an explosion right as I walked past".
An SFRS spokesperson confirmed they were called to the scene at around 8.23pm, adding that "it was a small fire outside the fire exit door to the roof".
They added: "The incident was handed over to the premises security and Police Scotland, and fire crews left at around 9pm."
It is understood that the fire is connected to a "failure of the electrical supply" which occurred earlier on Thursday at Edinburgh Waverley.
At 6.11pm on Thursday, ScotRail warned that the failure had caused signalling issues, meaning that services could be cancelled, delayed or revised.
The rail operator said: "Following an earlier failure of the electrical supply at Edinburgh Waverley, we're experiencing signalling issues.
"[Network Rail] is carrying out inspections, but services travelling through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised."
Services returned to normal at around 10.40pm on Thursday.
