A man posted nude pictures of his midwife ex-lover after blackmailing her with the explicit images.
One of the pictures photographs featured the woman, from Bali, using a cucumber as a sex toy, according to reports.
The midwife is believed to have resigned from her post after the pictures went viral on social media.
Local media claim the woman's former partner demanded she pay him $2,100 (£1,654) and allegedly released the pictures on Facebook after only receiving £552.
The photographs are thought to have been taken during a WhatsApp video call, according to Coconuts Media .
It is believed that at least three nude pictures of the midwife were widely shared on social media.
Police spokesman Yogie Pramagita said officers have not yet received an official complaint about the case.
Despite this, police insisted they would track down the person responsible for sharing the pictures.
They caused a commotion in Bali with many claiming the behaviour was inappropriate for a midwife.
