Explained: Project Pegasus and India's potential targets

An international collaborative investigative effort has revealed that more than 50,000 people across the world were potentially identified for targeted surveillance using a sophisticated piece of spyware called Pegasus. Developed by Israeli private company NSO, Pegasus was reportedly used here in India as well. (Note: After the shooting of this video, NSO released a statement saying the list is not of potential targets of Pegasus, and is not related to NSO.)

So, what is Pegasus? How does it work? And who all were identified for targeted surveillance in India?

Meghnad S tells you the basics of this massive investigation and what it uncovered.
