We're a nation of tea lovers with many of us enjoying nothing more than a brew and a biscuit in the afternoon.
But it turns out we might have been using tea bags wrong all this time.
The issue was brought up in an episode of Gogglebox back in October when the stars watched Channel 5 show Yorkshire tea vs PG Tips: Battle of the Brews.
Jenny and Lee both said how they loved a brew with Jenny confessing to buying PG Tips while over in Leeds Izzi said it had to be Yorkshire Tea.
The expert on the show said the key to a good cuppa was starting by boiling freshly drawn cold water that was filtered.
She then said you should bring the water temperature up to near boiling.
But then a shocking revelation was made about what you shouldn't do with your tea bag.
The narrator of the show said: "When the water's weaving it's magic there's a big no no that many of us do.
"Squashing your teabag against the side of the mug."
Sophie and Pete in Blackpool said that they squash their bag and Lee said: "We all do it, either that or your fingers."

But the narrator said the result of doing so, is "a bitter taste."
Mary and Marina in Bristol said: "Oh I've been doing it wrong, all these years, well I'm blowed"
The show instead urged people to "brew, don't squash."
And they also advised a brewing time of two or even three minutes, but the Gogglebox stars were having none of that and said if they followed that advise their tea would be cold and there was "nothing worse" than that.
