For expectant parents, one of the biggest decisions they have to make is agreeing on a name - but what about an old fashioned moniker for your newborn?
A whole host of vintage names are reportedly set to make a comeback this year, according to a bizarre 100-year rule which is underpinned by the theory that it takes roughly a century for baby names begin trending again.
Like nearly everything, baby names come in and out of fashion but it's believed that previously outdated names will eventually make a comeback when parents start to view it as "retro", The Mirror reports.
Experts at the Social Security Administration in the US have compiled a list of the most popular boys and girls names from the 1920s that could possibly resurface throughout 2020.
For girls, the most popular names 100 years ago were Mary, Dorothy, Helen and Betty, while Robert, John and James clinched the top spots for boys.
Also to make into the period's top ten was Margaret, Ruth, Virginia, Doris, Mildred and Francis, as well as William, Charles, George, Joseph, Richard, Edward and Donald.
And, while we doubt some of the names on the list will come out top of the list in 2020, a quick glance further down the 200-strong list throws up some names that we could see becoming quick favourites.
These includes names like Evelyn, Anna, Florence, Faye, Lila, Rosalie, Imogene, Nora, Billie, Bonnie and Audrey also feature in the full list of 200 names. As do Forrest, Jay, Archie, Wesley, Warren, Leo, Calvin and Jesse for the boys.
