Experts predict a Chargers win over Titans on Sunday

The Tennessee Titans (2-4) and the Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) will look to get their seasons back on track in Week 7’s matchup in Nashville.

The Titans open as favorites by a point spread of (-2.5), but many experts have picked the Chargers to come out with the victory.

The Los Angeles Times’ Sam Farmer predicted a 24-21 Chargers win.

“The Chargers can’t protect the football, nor can they run — at least not so far. They’re also struggling to get to opposing quarterbacks,” he wrote. “That figures to change at some point, and why not this week?”

Athlon Sports’ Nick Kayal sees the Chargers winning, 23-20.

“Tennessee’s offensive line has been downright awful this year,” he wrote. “And while Los Angeles is only 21st in sacks, I expect Joey Bosa and company to have the same success harassing Ryan Tannehill that the Bills and Broncos did against Marcus Mariota. Chargers fans don’t provide much of a home-field advantage (as was evident last week vs. Pittsburgh), so I don’t expect them to travel to Nashville. On the flip side, Titans fans are dejected right now so I would expect Nissan Stadium to be almost half empty. The Chargers have more playmakers on offense and the better quarterback. Los Angeles wins in a tight one that won’t be pretty.

Sporting News’ Todd Haislop had the Chargers on top with an identical score.

“At this point we have no idea what to make of the Chargers or the Titans, both of whom continue to either win games we think they’ll lose or lose games we think they’ll win,” he wrote. “The Chargers’ rush defense, allowing 120.5 yards per game on the ground, is trending in the wrong direction with Derrick Henry on deck, so Tennessee has the edge there (we think). Of course, Philip Rivers is better than whoever the Titans trot out at QB, so the Chargers have the edge there (we think). Forget it — let’s flip a coin.”

At the Tennessean, Erik Bacharach and and Tommy Deas had the Chargers winning, while Gentry Estes took the Titans.

The Titans and Chargers are set to kick off at 3:05 p.m. CT on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
