Experts overwhelmingly see Bengals taking road loss vs. Bills

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have many fans when it comes to experts heading into Week 3.

Over at NFL Pick Watch, just four percent of the experts polled as of this writing see the Bengals escaping Buffalo with a win over the Bills.

Watching the expert opinions on the Bengals change throughout the weeks has been interesting. Few believed in the Bengals on the road in Seattle, yet they almost pulled off the upset. For Week 2, a majority of experts thought the team would stand tall in a home opener against the San Francisco 49ers.

As fans surely know, that home opener was a 41-17 loss.

Given that, it isn’t too shocking to see the experts harshly against the Bengals this week — so much so only four other teams have equal or fewer experts standing in their corner this week.

The Bengals can’t be trusted to better run the football or make tackles on defense when offensive line and linebacker — the team’s two biggest problems a year ago — look much of the same thanks to a combination of injuries and sheer negligence (especially at linebacker).

Buffalo, on the other hand, is an undefeated team with an encouraging young quarterback in Josh Allen and a strong defensive front that just added Ed Oliver. Those Bills are at home, too.

These Bengals like the underdog role which is good — that’s firmly where they are in Week 3 and will continue to be if they can’t squeak out a competitive performance in Buffalo.
