Expert reveals which holidays most in demand this summer and the ones people are avoiding

Travel expert Simon Calder has revealed the holidays that are already in big demand for this summer and the ones people people look set to give the cold shoulder to.

A list of air bridges looks set to be published by the end of the week, confirming destinations Brits will be able to fly to without the need to quarantine when they get there or return home.

And with travel companies already reporting a surge in bookings over the past few weeks, holidays are beginning to be snapped up.

And This Morning expert Simon revealed to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby which ones are proving most popular so far and which people look likely to avoid.

He appeared on the show just after Hays Travel owners John and Irene Hays who wowed Holly with their refund offer.

Simon said: "All the signs I'm seeing is that people want to be in villas and self contained, self catering places.

"People used to love all inclusives but having to social distance from other people and have table service rather than the usual buffet, things become a but tricky.

"Cruises are by far the hardest hit."

Simon also revealed some of the best deals out there at the minute, singling out a few bargain package holidays.

The first, from On The Beach , is from Liverpool to Majorca, staying in Santa Ponsa for 7 nights for a family of 4 and the second on Jet2 for a holiday from Birmingham to Los Cristianos in Tenerife for £259 for 7 nights.

Simon described that deal as "unparalleled for the school holidays."
