Expert reveals baking soda hack to get burnt pans looking like new

A staple cooking ingredient has been revealed as an amazing hack to cut through stubborn dirt and smells around your home.

Many people may know already that baking soda, also known as bicarbonate of soda can be used to clean many items around your home.

But eco-designer and author of 'Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle'  Robin Wilson has revealed the substance has a lot more to offer than simply removing grease build-up from your fridge and ovens, the Express has reported.

So before you throw those burnt saucepans away and fork our for a new set, read this first.

Robin, who has her own brand called  Clean Design Home, has been advising people on how to clean their home.

By following her Clean Design protocols, it may be homemakers could save time and become healthier while cleaning their homes.

She explained: “Occasionally, you burn the bottom of your pan.

“So use baking soda and vinegar and let it sit for three or four hours.

“Then scrub and it will look like it’s a brand new pan.”

The cleaning expert also explained how baking soda can help get rid of any stubborn rings on the inside of the toilet.

She said: “One cup of baking soda, let it sit for 30 minutes, then soak white vinegar to moisten the baking soda from around the toilet edge.

“Then, use a brush and flush and it’s gone.”

Another household item Robin said can be cleaned with baking soda is a “sluggish shower head”.

She explained this could be because of mineral deposits on the inside of the shower head.

“You detach the shower head, soak it for an hour in half a cup of baking soda with half a cup of vinegar, reattach it and it should be fine,” she said.

She then advises to run a hot shower for five minutes.
