A number of spectacular shows are due to light up the night this weekend coming, as Bonfire Night takes place on the evening of November 5.
However with all of the excitement surrounding the night it can be easy to forget the potential dangers of the fireworks which can harm our vision, from the lights, smoke and sparks.
While public firework displays tend to have their own safety measures in place, people still prefer to avoid the crowds and have their own show in their gardens. These people need to be extra vigilant.

Roshni Patel, expert Optometrist from Lenstore, said: "With all the excitement of firework night, it can be easy to forget to take the necessary precautions to protect your safety in certain scenarios.
"If you are going to set off fireworks at home, there are a few things you can do to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you."
He added: "Firstly, wearing protective eyewear and staying at least 25 meters away from lit fireworks is a crucial way to protect yourself.
"Sparklers are another popular item to use. Though these are beautiful, be sure to always keep them at arm's length and don't get too close to someone else, as sparklers can burn."
Main points to look out for while trying to maintain firework safety include not looking directly at the bright lights of the fireworks as this can injure the back of your eyes.
The use of flashing lights can also cause discomfort of the eye as it causes the pupil to constrict and dilate.
The smoke from the bonfire can also be dangerous and can caused discomfort and blurred vision.
