Expert gives verdict on if Ant McPartlin's dog Hurley really is forlorn and his stress levels

Ant McPartlin 's beloved chocolate Labrador Hurley is happy and healthy despite being pictured looking a bit glum this week.

The telly star was seen out with his pet pooch and they both seemed a bit forlorn.

However, Mirror Online can reveal there's no need to worry about Hurley as his body language appears to show he's in good spirits.

A dog behaviour expert has explained that chocolate Labradors are very "robust" and not prone to stress.

It's unlikely that Hurley is unlikely to have felt too unsettled by Ant's split from wife Lisa Armstrong, who shares custody of him.

Dog behaviourist and trainer Adem Fehmi told us: "Dogs can deal with change like we can.

"They can be very tolerant, although it does depend on the individual dog...

"[Often divorce can be better for the animal] as stressful environments and arguments can cause problems [for the dog].

"After splits that's decreased...

"Chocolate Labs tend to be very robust, they don't tend to be stressy. They're a very good breed."

Ant and Lisa got Hurley when he was a puppy and they both loved him so much they decided to continue sharing custody after their split.

He now regularly travels back and forth between Ant's home and Lisa's house in Chiswick, west London.

Since the split, Ant has also got two new Maltipoo puppies, Milo and Bumble, his PA-turned-girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett.

The pedigree pups cost a whopping £1,000 each.

Ant has previously credited Hurley with helping him get through tough times last year in the aftermath of his drink-driving crash.

The telly favourite took time off to deal with his personal problems, and was often seen out with his beloved pooch by his side.
